Blessington Educate Together National School opened in September 2006.This state-funded multi-denominational primary school is co-educational, child-centred and democratically run. Situated in a quiet, pleasant rural setting close to Blessington lakes and about 1.5 miles from Blessington village, the school grounds extend to 2.5 acres and include a basketball and volleyball court. The large playgrounds ensure the children have space to run, play and enjoy their break-times.
Our school offers a stimulating environment with high academic standards in a supportive learning atmosphere in which no child is an outsider. The pupils, teachers, Student Council, Board of Management and Parents� Association work collaboratively, making our school a close- knit community.
Our pupils are given the opportunity to learn to respect different beliefs and diversity within the community. Our weekly assemblies bring the whole school together to acknowledge individual achievements and celebrate special events.
Sports Days, Family BBQs, gardening days, school musicals and fundraising events provide opportunities for the school community to come together.
Football training in conjunction with local clubs, swimming in a local pool, drama and musicals, participation in local quizzes and community events are some of the extra curricular opportunities for learning. After school activities include French, Scripture, Swimming & Football. |
